In his tweet, Dr. Cardona celebrated the innovative efforts of schools and districts nationwide to ensure K-12 students are vaccinated against COVID19. Dr. Cardona mentioned “scholarship opportunities” and “prizes” among incentives to encourage students to get vaccinated. The Secretary of Education thought this was worthy of celebration.

These “discussions” often devolve into political dumpster fires as participants hold on to their positions with death grips, refusing to consider alternatives to what they believe. Increasingly, it seems that medical necessity and public health have been reduced to political tools of manipulation being used against our children. It’s hard to judge the accuracy of COVID related information being disseminated. Are the current CDC stats and recommendations legitimate or just a means to an end of someone’s agenda? What’s certain is countless students are not learning. Many students are falling farther behind and may never catch up.

However, what the kids didn’t know was that the former Leatherneck had undergone spinal surgery just days before, requiring her to wear an upper body cast beneath her pant suit. Calling the students to order on the first day, the new teacher was met with cat calls, sneers, and jeers; exactly what she had been warned to anticipate. But when the overhead fan began to blow her necktie around, she picked up an industrial-strength stapler and proceeded to staple the errant tie to her chest. She encountered few discipline problems that year.
