In 2019, Canton High School managed to qualify two teams at the state tournament. Matthew Tallas and Andrew Rickman not only qualified for the state tournament but also won the anglers of the year award, topping over 210 other teams. Fishing solo, Cody Dougherty also qualified for the state tournament which is a great accomplishment.
