Bobby Clyde Bishop of Grand Saline, Texas, went peacefully into the arms of his loving Father on June 15, 2021. Bob was a devoted husband, a caring friend and he treasured his children, who all think he hung the moon. Bob was dearly loved by all, especially his adoring wife, Sue Bishop, who he married in 2014.

He was born to Morris and Lily Bishop on March 5, 1933, in Limestone County Texas. Bobby was preceded in death by his first wife, Isabel Ann Bishop (Goertz) and his siblings Johnny, Guy, Aubrey, Jean, Ginger, Anne, Ellie and Billy. Bob was a Korean War Veteran serving as a large tank mechanic in the US Army from April 1953 to March 1955. He received commendation medals for AOM (Army of Occupation) in Germany, and another for Good Conduct.

Bob is survived by his dear sister Ruth DeNina and husband Frank; children, Gaylan Bishop and wife Fran, Jeannie Bishop, Jo Bishop, Karen Van de Steeg and husband Leigh and Lee Kilmer; grandchildren, Sarah Karsen and husband Brandon, Mary Williamson and husband Steven, Tess Bishop, Annabel Chynces and husband Court and Ruby Van de Steeg and great-grandchildren Christopher Jensen, Nikolas Jensen, Grace Burroughs, Daylen Burroughs, Elizabeth Burroughs, Declan Williamson, Maura Williamson, Emma Karsen, Isabel Karsen and Scarlett Chynces. Bob’s family requests in lieu of flowers, kindly donate to your favorite charity.

A memorial service was held on Saturday June 26, 2021, at Main Street Baptist Church, with Pastor Smiley officiating, 313 Main Street, Grand Saline.
