A memorial service for Brenda Wilburn Horrell, 69, of Canton, was held Sunday, Oct. 10, 2021, at Eubank Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Robinson officiating.

Mrs. Horrell passed away in Canton on Oct. 8, 2021. She was born April 24, 1952, in Canton, to Grady Lee and Pauline Henrietta Jackson Wilburn.

Brenda was a member of Crossroads Church in Canton. She graduated Canton High School in 1970. Brenda was a seamstress for many years. She shared her talent by making countless baby blankets and dolls for her granddaughters, baby clothes and many other treasured items for friends and family. Brenda was most known for sewing teddy bears, each one unique and made with love in every stitch. She liked to imagine the joy the tradition of sewing brought, passed down from her own mother, by making sure every stitch sewn was perfect. Brenda was a humble woman, and felt it her calling to spread happiness with the gift she had been given. While she felt it was such a simple gesture, she impacted so many lives in doing so. She also enjoyed fishing, especially with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was able to enjoy working in her own garden during the last season of her life and felt it was truly one last earthly gift from God. She was an amazing cook, and many relied on her dishes every year to make a holiday complete. Above all, Brenda found serenity spending every morning with a daily devotional and coffee. She always reminded her family that God can be found everywhere but is most apparent during the quiet early mornings appreciating the outdoors and being thankful for every moment given. She especially loved time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who affectionately called her ‘Mammy’.

Mrs. Horrell is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Horrell; parents, Grady and Pauline Wilburn; and brothers, Donnie Wilburn, Billy Davison and Franklin Davison.

Brenda is survived by her two daughters, Christi and Tony Woods and Jodi Soule; son, Jeff and Jennifer Horrell; nine grandchildren, Shane and Mandy Richards, Ashley and Brian Bostick, Ryan Woods, Ty Woods, Katelyn and Clint Carlock, Whittney and Jayson Brookes, Jolyn Soule, Hobie Joe Wayne Horrell and Haley and John Culpepper; three great-grandchildren, Cooper Richards, Asher Bostick and Christian Bostick; two sisters, Ruby Rice and Debbie Wilburn and two brothers, Dewain Wilburn and Mike Wilburn. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, cousins and many devoted lifelong friends.
