Rosemond Elaine Day, 81, passed away suddenly March 23, 2020, at her home in Canton.
Elaine was born in Dallas July 24, 1938, to Walter and Evelyn Starnes.
While attending church, Elaine met her future husband Ben Day and they married Aug. 25, 1956. Ben was truly the love of her life.
In 1971, the family moved to Canton. Elaine began working at Eubanks Hardware and then Eubanks Funeral Home until 1980. Elaine later worked at the 1st National Bank of Canton and became the first female loan officer in Van Zandt County. She continued her banking career in Dallas and was an award winner in sales until her retirement in 2003.
Elaine was a member of First Baptist Church in Canton where she liked working in the nursery and going to church with her family. She also enjoyed painting, gardening and cooking. Elaine loved her women’s Bible study group and spent a lot of time with her younger sister, Patty Healey on Hideaway Lake.
Elaine is survived by her sons Terry Day and wife Pam of Lindale; Ricky Day and wife Tammy of Tyler; and Jeff Day and wife Lisa of Fort Worth. She had seven grandchildren, Matthew, Travis and Katelyn Day of Ft. Worth, Jacob and Jordan Day of Tyler, and Christian and Sarah Day of Lindale.
She is also survived by her brothers Walter, Clifton, Glen and Curtis Starnes and her sister Patty Healey.
