Services for James Waskom will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 10, 2021, at Hilliard Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Garrett officiating.
James Robert Waskom was born July 12, 1949, in Greenville, Texas, to the late Robert Owen Waskom and Evelyn Rose Moran Waskom. He grew up in Miller Grove, and lived in Van, Wickett, and Cumby. He was recently living in Malakoff, where he had been a resident since October 2020. James was a Baptist preacher, serving at several different churches. He also worked as a mechanic for many years, and loved to fish, hunt and collect guns.
James passed away at the age of 71 on June 30, 2021.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Pam Waskom of Malakoff; son, Michael James Waskom of Florida; daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and John Cross of Malakoff; sister, Retha Ann Heath of Sherman; step-grandchildren, Lorin Roberts (Eric), Lindsey Ruiz, and Anna McDaniel (Jeffrey) and step-great-grandchildren, Ethan, Nolen, Valerie, Alexis, and Autumn.
