Janet passed away peacefully Saturday, Aug. 22, 2020, at her home with her husband, Joe, son, David, and daughter, Deanna, by her side.
She was born Sept. 12, 1941, in Mabank to Spencer Stegall and Marselle McShan Stegall. Janet was raised in Mabank where she was a cheerleader, a duchess from Mabank to win Vetch Queen in Terrell, East Texas Chamber Queen to the State Fair of Texas, Betty Crocker National Homemaker of the year, as well as many other pageant titles.
Janet married Joe Miguel on Feb. 27, 1960, and they had two children, David and Deanna and their daughter in love, Becky. She was “Mom” to three, but she was “NanNan” to not only her grands but to countless others. Janet enjoyed having dinner parties, especially at Christmastime. She enjoyed taking trips, decorating around her home, playing golf and playing with her grandchildren. Janet was adored by all who knew her, especially children who loved her “silly songs” that she would sing as many times as they wanted without question. Her warm smile was infectious, her talent was endless and her love for family and friends is a legacy that will live on forever. She leaves behind beautiful memories for us all that we will carry in our hearts. She was truly an amazing woman that we loved dearly and she will be missed.
