A private family service will be held for Kay Huffines with a visitation for friends and family on Friday, April 19, 2019, from 5-7 p.m. at Hilliard Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest at Corinth Cemetery in Grand Saline.
Jerry Kay Huffines was born Oct. 15, 1942, in Grand Saline. She had been a resident of Van since 1973. She retired from Van ISD in 2004, where she worked in food service for many years. She passed away at the age of 76 on April 14, 2019, in Quitman.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Paul Huffines; son, Steve Huffines; great-grandson, Brenton Lane Huffines; parents, Carl and Odessa Clower; brothers, Weldon Clower, Truman Clower, Edward Clower, Glenn Clower and Danny Clower; and sisters, Avis Bailey, Joy Green, Betty Kirby, Jean Dickerson, Peggy Rogers and Sue Baugh.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Roy Hukill of Van; daughter-in-law, Kim Huffines of Van; two grandchildren, Wesley Huffines (Chanda) and Allison McClanahan (Carter); several great-grandchildren; sisters, Billie Watson, Jo Gilchrist and Sherry Shinpaugh; and many nieces and nephews.
