Pamela Lee Shropshire was born on Aug. 30, 1944, in Commerce, Texas, to Sammie Lee and Mildred Shropshire. She was the eldest of two daughters. Pam met the love of her life in Abilene, Texas, and married just after high school graduation in 1962. They welcomed a daughter, Stephanie, in late 1963 and a son, Steven in 1967.

She was called Home on Friday, July 9, 2021, at 12:34 a.m.

For over 22 years, Pam was proud to be a rare female leader in a prominent Dallas Insurance Agency. As a single mother, Pam worked hard to ensure her children never wanted for anything, while she herself did without. Most importantly, she raised them both to know the abundant love of the Lord, grounded in His hope and faith.

In 1991, Pam went on to become a dorm mother at Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas, while studying theology herself. She left that beloved role in 1999 to care for her ailing mother.

Pam’s greatest joys in life were foremost her family, hitting the hymnal high note, playing a mean game of cards and of course, the Dallas Cowboys. She was an original lady cut from a cloth that is hard to find in these times ... a little cotton, a little more lace, and a lot of burlap all accented with a beautiful silk scarf. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, mother, grandmother “Dardee” and friend, whose smile and laugh would brighten the darkest of rooms.

May all that are touched by her sweet spirit find peace and comfort that she is with the angels having a grand time, watching over and caring for us. She will be greatly missed every moment of every day!

Pam is survived by her loving family: daughter, Stephanie; son, Steven and Jessica; grandchildren, Joshua and Nicole, Jessica and Javier, Jordan and Andrew, Brennon and Taylor, Kellen and Tiffani; great-grandchildren Xenia, Aleah, Sophia, Xavier, Stephanie and Kylie; nephews, Keith and Chris; niece, Samantha as well as her most special and closest friend of 50 years, Marilyn Davis.

She is preceded in death by her father, mother and sister, Donna Gwen.

A celebration of her life will be held at the Leander Church of Christ on Saturday July 31, at 1 p.m., 300 Crystal Falls Pkwy, Leander, Texas 78641
