Funeral services for Rickey Joe Wilson, 76, of Canton, were held Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023, at Eubank Funeral Home with Stephen DeVille officiating. Inurnment was in Haven of Memories.

Mr. Wilson passed away Jan. 3, 2023, in Tyler. He was born Dec. 16, 1946, in Royse City.

Rickey grew up in Royse City and had lived in Canton for many years. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam and earned three Purple Hearts. Rickey was a welder for many years. He enjoyed his cows, riding his tractor and spending time with his grandchildren. He loved watching PBR and Westerns in his recliner.

Mr. Wilson is preceded in death by his parents, Imalee and Tom Cook; daughter, Peggy Jean Wilson, and his grandson, Donovan Heath Burton.

Rickey is survived by his son, Tommy Joe Wilson and Susie Terrell; son, Kevin and Angela Wilson; daughter, Misty and Heath Burton; seven grandchildren: Kai Wilson; Tucker Wilson; Sutton Wilson; Whitley Wilson; Westin Burton; Weston McCluskey and Jesse Worley; three great-grandchildren; two brothers: William and Cyndy Cook and Bobby and Venita Cook; sister, Gene Walls, and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Honorary pallbearers were Weston McCluskey, Tucker Wilson, Sutton Wilson, Kai Wilson, Juan Ontiveros, Jerry Shamlin and Ronnie Burton. Visitation was Friday, Jan. 6 at the funeral home.
