Vernadene ‘Vernie’ Holland

Private services for Vernadene Lide Holland, 88, of Euless, were held Tuesday, March 24, 2020, at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton. Entombment was in Haven of Memories. A public memorial will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Holland passed away Sunday, March 22, 2020, in Bedford. She was born Nov. 6, 1931, in the Wallace Community in Van Zandt County to Thomas Hiram and Ruth Erman Phillips Lide.

Vernie graduated from Canton High School in 1948. She retired from American Airlines after 47 years of service. Vernie was a huge fan of the Dallas Cowboys, loved bowling and traveling. She was a Baptist by faith and enjoyed watching Dr. Charles Stanley preach on TV.

\Mrs. Holland is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Ruth Lide; three brothers, Homer, Harold and Buck Lide; sister, Maxine Paul; and a niece, Donna Lide Wilson.

Vernie is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Janis and Charles Baskin of Canton and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Heidle Baskin, Steve Baskin, Wade Baskin, Al Lide, and Gary Lide.
