Wanda Mackey

A funeral service was held for Wanda Fay Mackey, 73, of Canton, was held Sunday, Oct. 11, 2020, at Lakeside Baptist Church, under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Moore officiating.

Wanda passed away peacefully Oct. 9, 2020, in Tyler.

She was born Sept. 29, 1947, to William McWhorter and Marie Barnett McWhorter. Wanda grew up in the Waxahachie and Dallas area. On Nov. 14, 1965, she married her soulmate, Robert “Bob” Mackey. They were married 36 years at his passing. Wanda was a very caring and giving person. She was Baptist by faith and church was very important to her. Wanda enjoyed shopping and spending money, especially on others. Wanda enjoyed going on trips. She loved her dog, Sassy, her constant companion. She loved the Lord and her family. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Wanda will be missed by all that knew her.

Wanda is survived by her son, Ronnie Mackey and wife, Angie; son, Robert Mackey Jr.; grandchildren, Hayle Mackey and fiancé, Jackson Winter, McGwire Martin and Maverick Mackey and a multitude of family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Marie McWhorter; beloved husband, Bob Mackey; and son, Jack Mackey.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that you donate to the Wanda Mackey Caregiver Fund at Lakeside Baptist Church.
