CANTON HERALD AUGUST 8, 1963 Detailed engineering surveys and core drill operations have begun on the first floodwater retarding structures in Van Zandt County according to T. L.(- Soupy) Roberts, supervisor of the Kaufman-Van Zandt Conservation District. This work is now underway on four sites on Lacy Creek between Canton and Mabank.
