St. Justin’s Episcopal Church introduces new priest

St. Justin’s Episcopal Church introduced their new priest, Father Marc Dobson, on Sunday, Nov. 13 at a special service and reception.

Dobson attended seminary at Trinity School for Ministry in Ambridge, PA., graduating in 2003 with a Masters of Divinity degree. He was ordained in 2004 to the priesthood and has served as an Episcopal Priest for 18 years. Father Dobson has served as a Rector, Assistant Rector, Vicar and Priest. He has been in the diocese of Dallas since September of 2008, serving at Grace Episcopal Church in Mesquite, Texas for five years and at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Cedar Hill, Texas for nine years. He taught Old Testament Survey courses at the Stanton Center for Ministry Development and served on the Evangelism Commission. He retired from full time ministry in August of 2022.

St. Justin’s welcomes all to join them, stating, “All are welcome to join us in this new era for St. Justin’s Episcopal Church.”

Wallace Methodist Church to host supper and auction Nov. 19

The Wallace Methodist Church in Canton will be hosting their Annual Pie Auction at the church Saturday, Nov. 19. The church is located at 151 VZCR 2501 in Canton.

There will be pies, cookies, and other backed goods that will be auctioned just in time for Thanksgiving, according to a church spokesperson.

There will be a soup and chili supper that will begin at 6 p.m. at a cost of $6.00 for all you can eat. The pie auction will follow at 7 p.m. All proceeds will go to support Wallace Methodist Church. Cash or checks will be accepted.
