VZCSO breaks up suspected cockfighting ring

The Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office shut down an alleged cockfighting operation near Grand Saline on Thursday, July 16. At approximately 7 a.m., investigators with VZCSO, along with the Wills Point Police Department and the SPCA of Texas, executed a search warrant at a residence in the 100 block of Van Zandt County Road 1118 near Grand Saline.

Lowe’s is deepening its commitment to solve problems and fulfill dreams for the home in the Lone Star state with a store opening in Kaufman in early August. Lowe’s of Kaufman, located at 600 Kings Fort Parkway, includes roughly 95,000 square feet of retail space plus 30,000 square feet of outdoor garden area. It is the fifth new Lowe’s store to open in the past year in the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area.

Sizemore named to MSU’s Spring 2026 Deans' List
