Correction

In the police blotter that was published in last week’s print edition of the Canton Herald, the suspect in an assault case was erroneously reported as 77-year-old Alan Ray Franklin. The actual suspect in the case is a 77-year-old person with a different name. The electronic edition of the Canton Herald was updated with the correct information. We regret the error.

Canton PD made the following arrests and responded to the following incidents from July 18 to July 25:

Lizbeth Alicia Garcia, 30, Whitehouse, evading arrest.

Lauren E. Gore, 30, Canton, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Ricky D. Mortell, 29, Canton, public intoxication.

Kenneth L. Mortell, 30, Canton, public intoxication.

Haley A. Parrish, 34, Henderson, evading arrest.

Christie Peters, 37, Houston, fraudulent use/possession of identifying information, burglary of a vehicle, failure to identify with intent to give false information, resisting arrest/search/transport, possession of a controlled substance under penalty group 1/1-B amounting more than 1g but less than 4g, and two counts of possession of a controlled substance under penalty group 1.

Colton Lyn Powers, 18, Canton, possession of drug paraphernalia.

Jaime M. Rodarte, 26, Garland, evading arrest.

Mark S. Sampson, 58, Canton, stalking.

Haley R. Shanks, 20, Mabank, possession of drug paraphernalia.

Clint Jacob Whitaker, 40, Canton, terroristic threats.
