Davis wins Grand Champion Designer at Flower Challenge
The Canton chapter of the FFA played host to 109 competitors from 18 schools across the state over the weekend for the ‘Four Round Flower Challenge’.
In the contest, designers received a different task per round, and up to half of the competition was eliminated following each round.
In addition to hosting the event, Canton FFA entered three competitors: Ariana Davis, Morgan Dunn, and Payton Bray.
Round one offered competitors creative freedom, with rules stating that they must stay within budget. Dunn earned first place in the round, followed by Bray in second place. All three competitors would advance to the next round.
All three competitors would also advance in rounds two and three, where they were tasked with creating an industry standard dozen rose bouquet and a bridal bouquet, respectively.
In the final round of the contest, the remaining 15 designers were challenged to build a large wedding arrangement using an all-white color palette. Davis would place third amongst the 15 competitors in the final round.
After the final round, overall winners were ranked based on their performance across the four rounds of competition.
Davis would receive the honor of Grand Champion Designer, followed by Dunn placing fourth overall, and Bray placing eighth overall.
