Kickoff event scheduled for 4-H Club

Come join us for the 2022 Van Zandt 4-H kickoff Sept. 8 from 5:30 – 7 p.m. in the parking lot of the Texas AgriLife office at 235 Groves Street in Canton. It is a come and go event to show case what is offered in the county.
4-H is more than agriculture, with activities in leadership, community service, sewing, cooking, and more. We currently have eight clubs: Free State, second Tuesday beginning at 5 p.m. at the VZ Fairgrounds; Lucky Leaf, second Monday from 5-7 p.m. at the Canton Christian Academy; Hearts and Hands, second Tuesday from 2:30-4:30 p.m. at the VZ Fairgrounds; Project Club, third Thursday beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the Farm Bureau; Martin’s Mill, second Monday beginning at 5 p.m. at the Martin’s Mill school; Archery, second Thursday beginning at 6:30 p.m. at On Target; Shooting Sports, second Sunday beginning at 2 p.m. at the Big Rock Gun Club; Horse Club, fourth Thursday beginning at 7 p.m. at St. Justin’s Episcopal; and Beef Club, TBD.
