Julia Ann Day Brinkley
1936-2023
Julia Ann Day Brinkley was born on Nov. 18, 1936, to Albert Orion Day and Viola Sawyer Day.
She peacefully left this life on March 1, 2023, to be in heaven with Jesus.
She was preceded in death by her ‘soulmate,’ Clarence Elwood Brinkley Jr.; brothers, Bill and George Day, and her parents.
Julia is survived by Michael and wife, Emily, of Grand Prairie; Wayne and wife, Debbie, of Ben Wheeler; DeAnne Pickett and husband, John, of Ben Wheeler, and Monty and wife, Tracy, of Grand Prairie. She has 13 grandchildren: Jonathan Brinkley and wife, Kacey, of Grand Prairie; Jennifer Oliver and husband, Jason, of Grand Prairie; Joshua Brinkley and wife, Tiffany, of Grand Prairie; Jessica Hoover and husband, Justin, of Grand Prairie; Benjamin Brinkley and wife, Adriane, of Richmond, Virginia; David Brinkley and wife, Becca, of Casselberry, FL; Julia Pickard and husband, Jon, of Austin; Courtney Pickett of Fort Smith, AR; Cody Pickett of Fort Smith, AR; Jeremiah Brinkley and wife, Taylor, of Arlington; Sam Brinkley of New York, NY; Anna Brinkley of Grand Prairie, and Alayna Brinkley of Grand Prairie, and 22 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her brother, Albert Day and wife, Faye, of Milton, FL; sister, Betty Bryant of Raymore, MO; sister, Patsy Cotrell of Savannah, GA; sister-in-law Martha Day of Myrtle Beach, NC, and sister-in-law, Claudia Day of Savannah, GA.
Julia was a long-time resident of Ben Wheeler and was a member of the Ben Wheeler Baptist Church. She cherished teaching the Ladies’ Sunday School class and the lasting friendships she made. She loved being with her family and all the many times that the children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren came to visit. She was most proud when she had the opportunity to see her children, grandchildren,andgreat-grandchildrenbebaptized. She enjoyed gardening, reading, and hummingbirds. Julia’s favorite bible verse was Matthew 6:33, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God and all these things shall be added unto you.” A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at 11:15 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Ben Wheeler, 5516 FM 858, Ben Wheeler.
