Services for Mattie Lou Roberts Gullett, 96, of Canton, were held on April 4, 2023, at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton with Chris Bigley officiating. Interment was in White Rose Cemetery.

Mrs. Gullett passed away April 1, 2023, in Canton. She was born June 17, 1926, in the Fairview Community near Wills Point to Jesse Mineard Roberts and Novella Gladys Tucker Roberts.

Lou grew up in the Wills Point area. She received her bachelor’s in business administration from North Texas State University. On Dec. 29, 1949, she married Herman Gullett. Mrs. Gullett taught at Canton High School for many years. She also helped her husband in his jewelry shop. Lou was a member of First Baptist Church in Canton for 74 years.

Mrs. Gullett is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Herman; her parents: Jesse and Gladys, and two sisters: Dena and Anne.

Lou is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lou Ann and Mike Everett; grandson and his wife, Walter and Kachell Teal; two great-grandchildren: Liberty and Justice Teal; three nieces: Kim; Mitzi, and Delynn, and numerous cousins.

Visitation was on Monday, April 3, at the funeral home.
