Services for Mr. Gary Lynn Stilwell, 68, of Grand Saline, were held Thursday, June 23, 2022, at Bartley Funeral Home, with Bro. Homer Morgan officiating.

Interment followed in Woodside Cemetery.

Mr. Stilwell passed away June 20, 2022, at his home in Grand Saline. He was born February 3, 1954, in Seattle, Washington, to Wilford Myrl and Ann Lucille Dopson Stilwell. Gary was raised on military bases all over the world, including France, Germany, and Iran. He graduated from South Garland High and then served in the US Army for five years. Gary settled in Garland and spent many years there before moving to Grand Saline 20 years ago.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Carla Sue Robertson; father-in-law, Herbert Carver, and brother-in-law, Billy “Dood” Carver.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Terri Stilwell of Grand Saline; son, Gary Stilwell and Traci Copeland of Grand Saline; daughter, Angie Hammond and husband, Michael, of Grand Saline; brother, Roy Stilwell and wife, Priscilla, of League City; five grandchildren, Morgan Stilwell, Will Stilwell, Emily Hammond, Cope Stilwell, and Tylee Copeland; mother-in-law, Lois Marie Carver and Ed Akins of Fruitvale; two brothers-in-law, Eric Carver and wife, Tricia, of Mineola, and Randy Carver of Grand Saline; sister-in-law, Dwana Stillwell and husband, Larry, of Grand Saline, and numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers were Will Stilwell, Mason Carver, Adian Oakley, Cody Stillwell, Roy Stilwell, and Eric Carver.

Honorary pallbearers were Michael Hammond, Summer Frederick, Valerie Stilwell, Traci Copeland, and Randy Carver.

The family received friends on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at the funeral home.
