Tanya Reina Watkins

Services for Tanya Reina Watkins, 58, of Van were held Saturday, April 4, 2026, at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton with Bro. John Mark Robinson officiating. Interment followed at Haven of Memories Memorial Park.
Tanya was born June 19, 1967, in Dallas. She passed away peacefully at her home on March 31, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Throughout her illness, she remained strong in her faith and trusted in the Lord until the very end.
Tanya was a well-known and respected member of the Canton community. She was a realtor and owner of Promise Realty and was also the owner of Southern Pop and Southern Pop Gun Shop.
Tanya believed strongly in giving back to her community and was actively involved in many local organizations.
She served as Past President of the Canton Lions Club, was a board member of the Children’s Advocacy Center of Van Zandt County, a member of the Women’s League of Canton, and a former board member of the Child Welfare Board.
She also served as President of the Canton Chamber of Commerce where she worked to support local businesses and strengthen the community she loved.
Her faith was central to her life. Tanya loved talking about Jesus and encouraging others in their faith. Known for her strong personality and determination, she never met a stranger and was known throughout Canton for her bold spirit and generous heart.
Outside of her work and community involvement, Tanya enjoyed spending time with her cows and dogs and being surrounded by the people and animals she loved.
Tanya is survived by her son, Matthew Paul Watkins and wife, Alli; daughter, Mallory Marie Watkins; five grandchildren, Brantley, Stetson, Jordan, Madylin, and Lesli; significant other, Derek Hansel and his girls, who held a special place in her heart; and sister, Sabrena Markgraf.
She was blessed with many special friendships, but was most thankful for Rocky and Jennifer Coss, Tonda Curry, and Wendy and Jim Tallant, whose friendship meant the world to her.
Visitation was held Friday, April 3, at the funeral home.
Tanya’s strength, faith, and love for her family and community will be remembered by all who knew her.
