Great Outdoors Expo held
Rock Hill Baptist Church in Brownsboro, Texas hosted the God and the Great Outdoors Expo on July 29-30. It was the second year for the church to host the event and it was another success. Kids lined up on Saturday to be the first to enter and receive a free fishing pole.
There were many giveaways for the adults as well, including an ATV. Over a hundred exhibits were set up inside for every outdoor activity such as fishing tackle, farm and ranch equipment and guide services for fishing or hunting. Many local fishing teams, 4H groups and ministry services had booths as well.
The outside activities were just as impressive. The live fish tank gave kids a chance to fish, the petting zoo had lots of friendly animals, and the bounce houses were a favorite of the youngsters. An interactive archery range gave archers an opportunity to shoot at a moving target.
The Super Retriever Series Dock Jump Competition gave everyone a chance to see sporting dogs and their handlers compete to see who can jump the furthest to retrieve a bird-like toy or frisbee.
The crowd was wowed as the dogs seemed to fly through the air. Fishing boats, RVs of all sizes and ATVs were scattered all around the expo for those interested in purchasing a new toy. The expo also featured live music and former Nascar driver Hank Parker Jr. spoke on Saturday night.
