Services for Yogi Yarbrough were held on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2022, at Grace Bible Church in Canton with Pastor Dan Tarno officiating.

Roy Jerry “Yogi” Yarbrough was born Sept. 5, 1940, in Gillham, Arkansas. He had been a resident of Canton since 1999, also living in the area during his younger days. He moved all around the U.S. as he served in the U.S. Air Force, serving two tours in Vietnam. He retired from Eielson Air Force base after a 20-year career in the military and then also retired again from civil service. Yogi was very sociable; he loved to talk with people and spend time with his family and friends. He taught Sunday School at Grace Bible Church for many years. Over the years, he has enjoyed woodworking, hunting, and fishing.

Mr. Yarbrough passed away at the age of 82 on Dec. 9, 2022, in Canton. He was preceded in death by his wife and mother of his children, Donna Yarbrough; parents, Roy Thomas Yarbrough and Mary Maxine Roden Yarbrough, and son-in-law, Jay Wright.

Survivors include his wife of 12 years, Jeanne Yarbrough of Canton; three children, Sandy Rahn (Dale) of Alaska; Cindy Wright of Washington, and Jerry Yarbrough of Midland; two step-children, Amber Myers (Randy of Frisco and Joshua Bailey of Canton; grandchildren, Brian Reeves; Brad Reeves; Breanne Russell (Ryan); Brock Reeves; Jessica Sessum-Rahn (Caleb Reed); Holly Owens (Wayne); Nicole Chyzik (Zach); Dessa Bailey; Morgan Bailey; Avery Bailey, and Rowan Myers; great-grandchildren, Chalista Reeves; Lavaleey Reeves; Aiden Russell; Elena Russell; Ricardo Bailey, and baby Lou Micah Reed on the way.
