Andy Flowers was born in Sulphur Springs and grew up in Brinker. He was one of six children of John and Ada Flowers. He joined the Army in 1966 and was discharged in 1972. He was a father to Brandy and Jeffrey from his first marriage. His second marriage was to Sherry, who had four children and he became their dad, also. He worked for 36 years of which 27 years were in the service of the CIA. He was president of the Employees Club, Homeowners Association, Crime Stoppers and Richland Cemetery. He loved golf and won several championships at D.A.C. He retired to his farm west of Canton. He was a member of the Van Zandt Country Club. He loved all of his family which produced many joys and memories in his life.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers David, Gene, Larry and his sister, Nancy.

Surviving are his wife, Sherry; brother John; children Brandy, Don, Jeffrey (Robertson), Cindy (Bowden), Brian Gomer, Amy Gomer and Deidre (Pennell); sisters- in-law Jan (Flowers) and Marian (Flowers); brother- in-law John Rooney; grandchildren Hailey (Gomer) and Sebastian (Pennell).

There will be a private gathering of family and friends.

Donations in his memory may be made to the Van Zandt County Library or the Van Zandt Veterans Memorial.
