1938-2023

Betty Sue Mosley Bolt was born to Frank Ray and Ola Mae Mosley in the Ash Switch Community on May 7, 1938. She went to “see her Jesus” on May 8, 2023, just hours after celebrating her 85th birthday surrounded by her family and friends.

Betty graduated from Athens High School in 1956. She met the love of her life, Marvin Lee Bolt, on the Athens square, where she was cruising in her 1957 Chevrolet. They married on July 3, 1959, in Zip City, Texas. She was a seamstress by trade, but her favorite roles in life were wife, Mom and Grandma. She was proud to have served many years in the Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Posse Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed fishing, bowling, horseback riding, gardening, cooking, and spoiling her family. You could always look forward to getting your favorite dish at every family gathering.

She is preceded in death by her parents. Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of nearly 65 years, Marvin, children Pam Holcomb (Keith) and Dennis Bolt (Paula), grandchildren Bre Holcomb, Garrett Holcomb (Victoria), Travis Bolt, Brooke Bolt and Tabitha Harlow, great grandchildren Marli, James, Maddy and Hannah, sister, Marita Wilkins and a host of extended family and close friends.

A graveside service was held at Liberty Cemetery in Bradford, Texas on May 13 under the direction of Autry’s Carroll-Lehr with Bro. Steve Glosup and Bro. Randy Fisher officiating. Family received friends at the Arabella of Athens Clubhouse immediately following.

The family would like to thank the staff at Arabella of Athens and all the healthcare professionals for the loving care she received the past two years.

She won.
