Services for Carolyn Diane Strimpel, 75, of Canton, were held Saturday, January 27, 2024, at First United Methodist Church in Canton with Bro. Adam Muckleroy officiating, under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home. Interment was at the DFW National Cemetery. Mrs. Strimpel passed away January 21, 2024, at her home.

She was born October 28, 1948, in Dallas to Henry Alton Ledbetter and Virginia Katherine Smith Ledbetter. Carolyn grew up in Dallas and graduated from Sunset High School. She married Don on December 23, 1967. She had several careers over the years. Carolyn owned an antique store called Bird Song LLC., was a dealer of a Shell Oil gas station, and the cafeteria manager for Canton ISD. Carolyn loved to read, paint, and cook.

She loved animals and antiques. She was always generous and helpful to others. She supported charities that were dear to her heart. She sponsored and helped with the Reclamation Station. Carolyn enjoyed spending time with her family and was a good listener. She was a courageous woman who battled cancer three times.

Mrs. Strimpel is preceded in death by her son, Adam Donald Strimpel; and parents, Henry and Virginia Ledbetter. Carolyn is survived by her husband of 56 years, Don Strimpel; son, Daniel Strimpel; daughter, Dana Strimpel; five grandchildren: Rebecca Gilmore, Katherine Strimpel, Thomas Strimpel, Nathan Strimpel and Nolan Strimpel; two great-grandchildren: Mason and Aubrey Gilmore; two sisters: Jan Cox and Amy Ledbetter; and a brother, Mark Ledbetter. Pallbearers were Thomas Strimpel, Nathan Strimpel, Nolan Strimpel, and Mark Ledbetter. Visitation was held Jan. 26 at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton.
