1941-2023

Donald John (DJ) Lovvorn passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at the age of 81.

DJ was born on December 29, 1941, in Waco. DJ was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Henry Lovvorn and Della May Lovvorn. DJ graduated from Canton High School in 1960 and joined the United States Army in 1963, where he became a Sergeant in the Army Military Police Corp. After honorably being discharged in 1967, he became a State Trooper with the Texas Department of Public Safety. He received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science Degrees from Abilene Christian University with Magna Cum Laude Honors. DJ was promoted to Sergeant in the Department of Public Safety Criminal Intelligence Service, retiring in 1993. He thereafter became a Senior Investigator for TXU Corporate Security until his final retirement in 2004.

Funeral services for Mr. Lovvorn will be held on Friday, Sept. 22, 2023, at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton. Interment to follow at Haven of Memories.
