Dwight Alton Brimer passed on April 7, 2026, at the age of 70 surrounded by his loving family.

Dwight was born on August 4, 1955, to Kennith and Bettie Brimer in Dallas. Dwight spent 33 years proudly serving in the Mesquite Fire Department where he retired as Deputy Chief.

His love for his job and community was unending. After retiring from the Mesquite Fire Dept., he went on to be a loved and respected member of the Eubank Funeral Home family.

Dwight was a Christian by faith and loved the Lord with his whole heart. He and his wife, Valerie, attended the 243 Church of Christ in Canton where Dwight served as a Bible Study teacher and song leader. He loved studying the Bible, music, and singing.

When asked what his hobby was, Dwight would always answer “my kids,” with a smile on his face. Though, truthfully, he was an avid book reader when he had a moment to spare.

He loved his farm and enjoyed spending time on his tractors. Dwight also enjoyed playing ‘42’ with his friends.

Dwight is preceded in death by his parents, Kennith Alton and Bettie Jo (Graves) Brimer; and stepbrother, Joseph Baxley.

He is survived by his loving and adored wife, Valerie Brimer; his children: Russ Brimer, Blane Brimer, Trace Brimer, Neeley Brimer, and Dr. Allana Patel, husband Dr. Niraj Patel; grandchildren: William Hodgkinson, Scarlett Hodgkinson, Asher Conklin, Harrison Brimer, Jonas Brimer, Zion Patel, Everest Patel, Moriah Patel, and McKinley Patel; stepmother, Dolores Brimer; sister, Dr. Jodie Brimer Anderson; and two nephews: Thomas Baxley and Andrew Baxley.

Visitation was held at Eubank Funeral Home April 11, 2026.

A Celebration of Life took place at Canton Church of Christ on April 12.

Interment was at Dunbar Cemetery.
