Services for Kathy Jolene Sanford Thrasher, 79, of Mabank, will be held at 12:30 pm Friday, July 10, 2026, at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton. Interment will be in Haven of Memories.
Kathy passed away on July 3, 2026, at her son's home on Calendar Lake. She was born on December 5, 1946, in Dallas to Milton S. and Floria I. Sanford.
Kathy accepted Christ as a teenager. She graduated from Garland High School in 1964. Kathy moved to Mabank in 1986.
She worked as an Escrow Officer in real Estate Title companies for 32 years before retiring in 2004.
Kathy loved to read, crochet, embroidery, do crafts, bake and work outdoors. She always had treats for two-legged, four-legged or winged animals.
She married Lloyd Joe Thrasher in 2003. She also became a member of the Eastern Star the same year.
Kathy and Lloyd loved to host weekly fish fries, Bar-B-Qs, and swim parties for family, friends, and lots of kids. All were welcome. Their home was a ‘safe house’ and if you needed something, they were there for you.
Kathy had many titles: Mom, Momma, Grandma, Kat-Kat, Sissy, Mrs. Clause and the one she loved the most was Mrs.
Kathy is preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd; parents; stepdaughter, Brandy Wilson; brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Donna Sanford; sister, Margaret Bonner; great nephew, Justin Thorn; brother-inlaw, A.J. Conger; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, C.R. and Bonnie Evans; and niece, Denise Evans; Kathy is survived by her son, Thomas Cole and wife, Erynn; daughter, Taylor McDonald and husband, Sky; stepdaughter, Lisa Martin and husband, Joe; stepdaughter, Carol Brown and husband, Richard; stepson, Steve Thrasher and wife, Sandy; brother- in-law, Charlie Bonner; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Cole, Thomas Cole, Micah Heard, Darron Thorn, Jacob Harris, Brian Adkins and Austin McDaniel.
Visitation will be held 6-8 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Mabank First Responders and Mabank Masonic Lodge for always being there.
