A memorial service for Kristen Christopher was held Saturday, Oct. 8, 2022, at the Canton Bible Church.

Kristen Jan Chaney Christopher passed away in Galveston Aug. 30, 2022, at the age of 47. Kristen was born on Sept. 14, 1974, to Kathy Hall and Charles Chaney Jr. of Tyler. Kristen was the first born to this family and brought many firsts to us all. Mainly, the unconditional love that brought us all together.

Kristen was a foreman for Charalambous Construction, a power washing company in Galveston for four years. Kristen was a work horse. She grew up and attended school in Canton and graduated with the Class of 1992. Kristen loved her family, cooking, dancing, building fires and listening to music. She loved all kinds of music. Gospel music, even quartets, music healed her soul. Country music always made her feel close to her childhood family because that’s what she was raised on and it brought back precious memories; Kristen also loved the current Pop/ Rock music, because that’s who she was.

Kristen was preceded in death by her father, Charles Chaney Jr.; “Her Poppa”, Rayburn Hall; her Nannie Christine Hall; her MewMa, Shelia Curry; Uncles: Rocky Hall; Wayne Chaney, and Jimmy Curry; cousin, Rusty Hall, and brother-in-law, Erik Hicks.

Kristen is survived by her only daughter, Kelsey Lynn Chaney of Bloomington, Indiana; two sons, Robby Christopher (Alexis) of Llano; Kaleb Rushing of Wills Point; and three grandchildren, Kaylee; Aiden, and Max of Llano.

Kristen is also survived by “Her Momma”, Kathy Hall; twin brothers, Charles Cody Chaney and Jody Durrell Chaney of Canton; two sisters, Marcie Beth Hicks of Grand Saline, and Krystal Chaney (Keith Jamieson) of Wills Point; nephews, Koner Durrell Chaney and Jordon Jamieson; nieces, Kadence Hicks; Reagan Hicks; Kyliegh Chaney; Ashlynn Swallow, and McKenna Swallow. Kristen’s remains are under the care of Carnes Funeral Home, Galveston. Her ashes will spread next to her Poppa at High Cemetery by her brothers, Cody and Jody.
