A funeral service for Peggy Lou Petty, 85, of Canton, was held on Saturday, March 23, 2024, with Bro. Steve Glosup officiating. Peggy went home to the Lord on March 16, 2024.

She was born on November 13, 1938, in Floyd County, Texas to Lloyd Leslie Roberts and Eunice Mae Jackson Roberts. Peggy attended Grand Saline High School in her teens. She was Methodist by faith and a strong Christian woman. Peggy enjoyed people and life. She was big on socializing with friends and family. Peggy was an avid fisherwoman. A good day fishing was a wonderful day. Peggy could be found on quieter days, reading her Bible, sewing, doing word puzzles, or watching a good old western on TV. Peggy’s biggest joy was her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed but lives on in the hearts and memories of all that knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Eunice Roberts; First love, husband, Harold Hardin of 31 years; Second husband, Bill Petty of 11 years; son, Harold Lee Hardin; siblings; Lloyd Roberts, Jr., Terah Lapp, Ray Roberts, and Wanda Williams.

Peggy is survived by her children: daughter, Shirley Andersh; son, Leslie Hardin; son, Jeff Hardin and wife, Cindy; nine grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.

Honorary pallbearers were Brandon Hardin, Allen Hardin, Jacob Hardin, Lloyd Kriska, and Kelly Andersh.
