Celebration of Life Services for William Robert “Bob” Johnson, 92, of Ben Wheeler, were held on Sunday, April 2, 2023, at Spring Community Church in Ben Wheeler, with Bro. Larry Shackelford officiating.

Bob passed away on March 30, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Dallas County on March 27, 1931, to James Russell and Minnie Margaret (Finklea) Johnson. Bob grew up loving the outdoors, dairy farming, and cows. Bob soon met the love of his life in Judi who he married on June 2, 1966, and shared 56 wonderful years together.

A typical day for Bob revolved around the farm and the cows that he loved. To anyone who knew him, he was described as “a good ole’ boy” who enjoyed old time country music and spending time with his family. When someone in his family did something silly or made a mistake, Bob had a saying of “STUPE!” they all knew and expected. Later in life, Bob enjoyed spending his mornings at the Martins Mill Store drinking coffee every morning and talking politics with his friends, then going to the Ben Wheeler store and starting the process all over again.

Bob is survived by his caring wife, Judi Johnson; daughters: Tina Wycough and husband, Don; Kathy O’Neill and husband, Jim, and Kimberly Johnson; grandchildren: Magee Burns and wife, Karen; Jared Johnson and wife, Paige; Josh Wycough and wife, Lindsey; Lauren Campbell and husband, Blake; Kevyn O’Neill and wife, Haley; Taylor O’Neill and wife, Brooke; Jason O’Neill and wife, Kasha; Carson O’Neill and wife, Samantha, and Andrew O’Neill and wife, Jessica; 26 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. He is preceded in death by his son, James Richard “Ricky” Johnson; parents, James and Minnie Johnson; brother, James Lloyd Zumwalt, and sister, Helen Ruth Johnson.
