The Canton track team made its way west to Sunnyvale last week, competing against athletes from Athens, Brownsboro, Kaufman, Mabank, Nevada Community, Quinlan Ford, Sunnyvale, Terrell, Van and Wills Point at the Area Meet.

Final team standings in the varsity girls division included Kaufman winning first with 134 points, followed by Terrell with 100 points, Canton with 90 points, Sunnyvale with 64 points, Brownsboro with 63 points, Van with 55 points, Mabank with 29 points, Wills Point with 10 points, Nevada Community with six points, and Athens and Quinlan Ford with one point each.

Final standings in the varsity boys division included Kaufman winning first with 131 points, followed by Terrell with 80 points, Athens with 78 points, Sunnyvale with 66 points, Brownsboro with 62 points, Mabank with 53 points, Wills Point with 48 points, Canton with 37 points, Van with 34 points, Nevada Community with 12 points, Caddo Mills with 11 points and Quinlan Ford with eight points.
