Body davidb@vanzandtnews.com Despite opposition expressed by several audience members among a standing room only crowd, the Van Zandt Commissioners Court voted 3-2 in favor of purchasing new election equipment from Hart Intercivic of Austin.

4-way stop on the square

Body The 4-way intersection on the square where the courthouse sits is quite risky. At times, nobody goes, so then everyone sits there until everyone decides to go, at the same time.

Budget modified, proposed tax rate approved

Body davidb@vanzandtnews.com With a standing room only crowd in attendance, the Van Zandt County Commissioners Court unanimously modified their fiscal year 2024 budget and approved their FY 2024 tax rate during a special called meeting Aug. 23.
