Oct. 8 declared James Rice Day in VZ County

Body In their final regular meeting for the 2022 fiscal year, the Van Zandt County Commissioners Court unanimously approved a proclamation calling for Saturday, Oct. 8 to be recognized as ‘War of 1812 Veteran and Republic of Texas Citizen James Rice Day.

Fall is in the air at the library

Body It’s finally cooler outside!! I am so happy. I have tried to wait for the cooler weather, but not very patiently. Seriously, isn’t it wonderful? We can enjoy a few days of cooler weather. We already have some fall decorations up at the library.
