Halloween activities starting Oct. 29
Plans are being finalized for some upcoming Halloween events in Canton. Trunk or Treat at Stepz All-Star Gym Stepz All-Star Gym in Canton will be hosting their second annual Trunk-or Treat event from 3-7 p.m.
First-day early voting totals released
According to the Van Zandt County Clerk’s office, the number of voters for the first day of Early Voting Oct. 23 in VZC totaled 248.
Purchase of radio units approved by commissioners

Action tabled by commissioners’ court regarding purchase of radios
At the conclusion of their open session during their regular meeting Oct. 11, the Van Zandt County Commissioners Court tabled action on the purchase of radios as part of their long-term agreement with technology company L3 Harris based in Melbourne, Florida.
