AARP Driver Safety Program and the Van Zandt County Library at 317 First Monday Lane in Canton are sponsoring a driver safety class on Tuesday, Nov. 15, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. The course is designed primarily for drivers 50 years of age or older.

Former State Representative Dan Flynn remembered

Former District 2 Texas State Representative Dan Flynn is being remembered by a number of local and state individuals who worked for him or with him over a number of years. Flynn, a resident of Van Zandt County, passed away peacefully Oct. 28.
County jail receives clean inspection report

Van Zandt County Judge Don Kirkpatrick announced during the regular meeting of the VZC Commissioners Court Oct. 26 that the Texas Commission on Jail Standards has issued a ‘Certificate of Compliance’ to the VZC Jail.
