During a special called meeting Sept. 18, the Van Zandt County Commissioners Court voted to move the date of their next regular meeting from Wednesday, Sept. 24, to Friday, Sept. 26, beginning at 9 a.m. in the VZC Courthouse.
Following the Constitution Day ceremony held on the northside steps of the Van Zandt County Courthouse Sept. 17 by the Republican Club of VZC earlier in the day, the Neches River Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) later in the afternoon held its ‘Bells Across America’ recognition of the special day.

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is planning to conduct the following construction and maintenance work in Van Zandt County during the week of Sept. 15.
This month’s meeting of the Republican Club of Van Zandt County will feature guest speaker, Texas Senator Mayes Middleton, who was the first candidate to file for Texas Attorney General. The RCVZC monthly meeting will take place at 7 p.m.
