‘Bells Across America’ ceremony held on courthouse steps

Following the Constitution Day ceremony held on the northside steps of the Van Zandt County Courthouse Sept. 17 by the Republican Club of VZC earlier in the day, the Neches River Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) later in the afternoon held its ‘Bells Across America’ recognition of the special day.
Several were in attendance for the ‘Bells Across America’ ceremony Sept. 17 on the westside of the Van Zandt County Courthouse joined in to ring the bells at exactly 3 p.m. marking the time that the United States Constitution was signed 238 years ago on Constitution Day. Middleton to speak at RCVCZ meeting Sept. 22

This month’s meeting of the Republican Club of Van Zandt County will feature guest speaker, Texas Senator Mayes Middleton, who was the first candidate to file for Texas Attorney General. The RCVZC monthly meeting will take place at 7 p.m.
