Proposed new VFW Post for Canton discussed

Body Canton and Van Zandt County could have a new Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post established in the near future following a pre-sentation made to the VZC Commissioners Court during its regular meeting April 27.

Canton shooting leaves one dead

Body The Canton Police Department issued a statement on April 28 regarding a shooting occurring in the City of Canton. “On April 23, 2022, at approximately 12:30 a.m., the Canton Police Department was notified of a shooting that had occurred at a residence in the City of Canton.

Body Saturday, April 23, was the first day of the 2022 Farmers’ Market in downtown Canton. The Farmers’ Market saw a busy opening day, with people filing in to check out the booths until its close at noon.
