Run for the Wall to make local stop

Body Run for the Wall, an annual motorcycle ride promoting military veterans and honoring service, passed through the area early Sunday morning and included a stop at a pit stop at Brookshire’s in Terrell.

More than 400 riders from across the country passed through East Texas May 22 as part of this year’s Run for the Wall campaign. Body Canton High School led commencement ceremonies for the Class of 2022 on Friday, May 20, at Norris Birdwell Stadium.

The Canton High School Class of 2022 held commencement ceremonies on Friday, May 20 at Norris Birdwell Stadium. A packed stadium with standing room only was witness to the occasion as the senior class graduated. As the graduates neared the end of the ceremony, school officials congratulated the graduates and said “Let ‘em fly,” in regard to the graduates hats. See more photos of graduation on page 2A. Vets Memorial to hold program May 30

Body Memorial Day will again take on a special meaning in Van Zandt County as the Van Zandt County Veterans Memorial Board has announced that they will be hosting their annual program beginning at 10 a.m. Monday, May 30, at the VZC Veterans Memorial in Canton.
