A number of areas in Van Zandt County are contending with the aftermath of severe storms that swept through East Texas, leaving a trail of downed trees, power lines, and other debris in their aftermath. Final Early Voting numbers were released by the Van Zandt County Clerk’s office in the runoff elections for VZC Pct. 1 Commissioner and VZC Pct. 3 Commissioner at the conclusion of Early Voting May 24.

By only a margin of nine votes in unofficial votes released May 28 by the Van Zandt County Clerk’s office, Bobby Phillips will be the new VZC Pct. 3 Commissioner next year.
