“ I am Edie Booth, Democratic Candidate for Van Zandt County Commissioner, Precinct 2,” announced Edie Booth. “My grandparents immigrated to Texas for a better life in the early 1900s, the Bobos and Adkins families, long-time county residents. My uncles (six) served in WWII, while my father, in the Civil Service, was stationed in Alaska as a school principal (or spy) on the Aleutian Islands. My father’s career choice as Bureau of Indian Affairs administrator, brought our family to my birthplace, Nevada. My early life on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation (near Wounded Knee) provided opportunity to understand another culture.
