Early Voting for the March 3 Republican and Democratic Primary Elections in Van Zandt County ends Friday, Feb. 27 at two locations: The VZC/Sarah Norman Library located at 317 First Monday Lane (FM 859) in Canton, and The Movie House located at 255 Main Street downtown in Van.
CISD School Board election to be cancelled

The Canton ISD School Board election, originally scheduled for May 2, will be officially cancelled as only the incumbents signed up to run for the two available trustee positions. Incumbents Josh Wilkerson (Place 6) and Dr. Leslea Evans (Place 7) signed up to run as they were seeking re-election on the May 2 ballot.
Three CHS seniors advance to All-State Band

Neches River Chapter, National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution Publicity Chair “The Continental Congress adopted the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, making this a year for celebration,” said Sherrie Archer, Regent of the Neches River Chapter, National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR). “We are proud to join the rest of the country in observing America 250, the yearlong commemoration of the 250th birthday of the United States of America.”
