April 29-30: The Wills Point FFA will host a plant sale at the Wills Point High School greenhouse from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. April 29 and from 8 a.m. – noon April 30. Items for sale will include hanging baskets, gerbers, begonias, geraniums, sweet potato vines and tomatoes.

Children attending Storytime on April 23 were treated to making Earth Day crafts. The children took part in a craft called “stained glass” and colored on coffee filters and then sprayed water onto the filter to make the colors bleed around the coffee filter. The effect was made to look like the Earth. Storytime is held every Friday at 10 a.m. at the Van Zandt County Sarah Norman Library.

After being reported missing, the body of 71-yearold Vary Sounthivong of Mabank was found in Cedar Creek Lake near Tom Finley Park. A concerned citizen made the call to law enforcement concerning Sounthivong’s disappearance around 8:30 a.m.
