Leadership coach speaks to Lions Club

Transform Coaching Founder and Leadership Coach Todd Roberts was the guest speaker July 23 during the regular weekly Canton Lions Club Luncheon at Van Zandt Country Club. Roberts, who also serves as the President of the Canton Texas Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, was introduced to those in attendance by Canton Lions Club Member Debra Wood.

Canton Main Street and Visit Canton will be hosting and presenting the Summer Street Dance during First Monday Weekend starting at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, on the street in front of Canton City Hall located at 201 North Buffalo Street.

GS Creek project discussion draws large turnout

On the evening of July 15, the Canton City Council convened for a crucial meeting that attracted a large assembly of concerned Grand Saline Creek Reservoir residents. With Mayor Lou Ann Berry absent, as she was in Austin for a meeting advocating against commercial water well drilling in Anderson and Henderson Counties, the responsibilities of presiding over the meeting fell to Mayor Pro-Tem Blake Fowler.

Update on new emergency radio system installation presented

At the conclusion of their regular meeting and following a closed executive session July 16, a workshop was held by the Van Zandt County Commissioners’ Court as VZC Judge Andy Reese presented an update on the status of the new P-25 emergency radio system currently being installed.
