Students, teachers recognized during trustee meeting

Recognitions for a number of students and teachers in Canton ISD were the main focus May 13 during the regular monthly meeting of the Canton School Board. Canton High School graduating senior Cole Herchman led in the invocation to open the meeting and CHS graduating senior Laney Reid led in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Canton ISD Board President Kenneth Pruitt and board member Matthew Dunn were sworn into office May 13 during the regular monthly meeting of the Canton School Board. The oath of office was administered by Canton ISD Secretary to the Superintendent Stacie Wilkerson.

The Canton Lions Club District 2-X2 met Wednesday, May 8 with Lion President Jesse Carranza presiding. Lion Jonathan Helvey introduced Rebecca Helvey, the Renaissance Southpaw, who has been teaching art to children for about 14 years.
