Resolution approved by VZC Commissioners Court

Body Following much discussion, the Van Zandt County Commissioners Court approved a resolution during its regular meeting April 23 regarding the potential use of Certificates of Obligation (CO) for renovations at the VZC Courthouse and the Paul Michael building in Canton.

FBC to host Open House, Dedication Service

Body First Baptist Church of Canton, located at 303 South Athens Street, will be hosting an Open House and Dedication Service for the Grand Opening of their new Student Center facility Wednesday, April 30.

Senior fitness group honors memory of oldest member

Body A senior citizen group that meets regularly at Anytime Fitness in Canton took time to honor the memory of their senior member April 12. Liston Barber of Martins Mill, the oldest member of ‘The Old Timers Club’ senior citizen fitness group, passed away March 17 at the age of 99.

Body The Van Zandt County Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will be sponsoring the Upper Sabine Cattleman’s Conference from 8 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Friday, May 2, at Gabriel Ranch, located at 8575 FM 1255 in Grand Saline. Registration will begin at 8 a.m.
