Body On March 12, 2025, deputies from the Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Precinct 2 area of Van Zandt County for a burglary that had already occurred, according to VZC Sheriff’s Department Captain Pete O’Reilly.

Body A public workshop meeting to discuss renovations and potential relocation of the Van Zandt Courthouse drew around 75 Van Zandt County residents. The meeting was held in the VZC District Courtroom March 13 and was led by VZC Judge Andy Reese.

Body Van Zandt County Fire Marshal Kevin Palmer discussed two items with the VZC Commissioners’ Court during its regular meeting March 12. The first item dealt with a revised fire marshal fee schedule which received unanimous approval from the commissioners’ court.

Body A combined operation between the Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Interdiction Team, DEA, HSI (Homeland Security Investigations), along with Hunt County Deputies shut down a major illegal drug operation in Van Zandt County.

Body A wanted felon was stopped by Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Department patrol deputies resulting in additional charges being filed, according to VZC Sheriff’s Department Captain Pete O’Reilly. Deputy Juan Cortez took a stolen vehicle report on March 10.
